The diagram illustrates how sugar cane manufacturing for making suger in seven steps.

Overall, the process diagram cosists of around seven stages in the process of making sugar, which starts with growing sugar cane and ends with a considerable sted called drying and cooling.

At the beginning of the artificial diagram, the sugar canes growing in the field for at least 12-18 months. Afterwards, farmer harvesting raw sugar canes from the field with normal tools then bring it in a machine to collect in a van. In the following stage sugar cane crushing and making juice with the help of a process named crushing.

For the remaining stages of the process, juice bring over a limestone filter to purifying it properly. In the next stage called evaporator, where juice becomes syrup with the presence of heat. In the sixth stage, centrifuge hepls to separates sugar crystals from syrup which is crucial part of thsi process. Finally, sugar drying and cooling in a big jar for making the final output of sugar cane.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the process as a sequence from growing sugar cane to drying and cooling, and you report several key stages, including crushing, limestone filtration, evaporation and centrifuging. However, the overview is vague and partly inaccurate: drying and cooling is the final stage, not a “considerable sted,” and the process is not described as artificial. Some details are also missing or misreported. The diagram shows harvesting by either a mechanical harvester or by hand, whereas your account mentions farmers using tools and then putting the cane in a van. The overview should clearly summarise the main transformation from cane to sugar, and the stages should be described using only details supported by the diagram.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a generally understandable sequence, supported by phrases such as “At the beginning,” “In the next stage,” and “Finally.” The division into an introduction, overview and process description also gives the reader a basic structure. However, progression is sometimes weakened by awkward or unclear links, particularly “Afterwards, farmer harvesting … then bring it in a machine,” which makes the order and relationship between actions difficult to follow. “For the remaining stages” is also a broad transition before several separate steps. Use one clear paragraph for the overview and organise the detailed stages in order, with precise links such as “After harvesting” and “The filtered juice is then heated.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “limestone filter,” “evaporator,” “centrifuge,” and “sugar crystals,” which helps identify the stages. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise wording, such as “process” and “stage,” and by unnatural phrases including “artificial diagram,” “considerable sted,” and “final output of sugar cane.” Several spelling errors—“suger,” “cosists,” “hepls,” and “thsi”—also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise process verbs and natural collocations: for example, say that cane is “fed into a crusher” and that the final product is “sugar.” Check spelling carefully, especially for key terms that carry the meaning of the description.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple and more complex sentence forms, including an overview beginning “Overall” and a clause explaining that the juice becomes syrup. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors frequently affect sentence clarity. For example, “the sugar canes growing” needs a finite verb, while “juice bring over a limestone filter to purifying it” has problems with verb form and sentence construction. In “centrifuge helps to separates,” the verb pattern is incorrect, and “sugar drying and cooling” lacks a clear passive verb. Practise accurate passive forms for process descriptions, such as “the cane is harvested” and “the juice is heated,” and check subject–verb agreement and infinitive patterns.
