The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagram illustrates the manufacturing process involved for making sugar from sugar cane.

Overall, there are total of seven manufacturing process which are involved in making sugar from sugar cane. It starts from growing the sugar canes to finally producing sugar from it.

It takes around 12-18 months for the sugarcane to grow. After it is grown , it is harvested with the help of a tractor and manually too. After that the sugar cane is crushed in to a machine which gives us a sugar can juice . Then this juice is purified using a limestone filter. This juice is then heated in an evaporator which converts it into a syrup. Centrifuge takes place where they separate sugar crystals from syrup. Finally then this syrup is dried and cooled. Therefore, the sugar is now ready for usage.
