The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The visual represents how the manufacturing process for produce sugar from the plants of sugarcane.

Overall, there are seven main steps for the production of the sugar. From starting to collecting sugarcane and ending with making of sugar.

Firstly, the sugarcane crop are growing for 12 to 18 months by the farmer in their land after that the sugar can crops are developed well and cutting down by the farmer or harvesting the plants. Following that, sugarcane are transport to the factory were making the juice of sugarcane by crushing into a large roller machine. Apart from this, the juice is purifying by the limestone filter to remove large practical of the sugarcane.

Besides this, the juice are evaporator in the large container to make the syrup of the juice and centrifuge to separate sugar crystal from the making syrup. Finally, the sugar are transferred into drying and colling chamber and packing for the sales in market.
