How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram below illustrates the production process of sugar from sugar cane. Overall, sugar is produced from the sugar cane through a very hard process.

Firstly, for manufacturing sugar it is necessary to plant sugar canes in a field which is sown during the best time of the season and a farmer works very hard to take care off for it.It usually gets ready in 12-18 months and then it is harvested through heavy machinery and with the help of labour which is crushed into juice when it is taken into crushing filter. Then, juice is passed through the limestone filter after which it is kept into an evaporator to provide proper heat which converts it into a thick format such as syrup which is taken towards centrifuge machine where it is converted into sugar and it will be separated from syrup products. At the last, it is dried and cooled down to get the sugar as the final product.
