The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 6.0)

This process shows that how to make sugar from the sugar cane plant. These process has be include a several types steps which are required to follow in this process.

Overall, In this process there are different types of instruments which is required to complete this process.

the process is starts from growing sugar canes which can take a time around 12-18 months. After the growing sugar canes we cut them and collect sugar canes these process is called harvesting. We are cut the sugar canes with 2 process one is by our salve and other is using crop cutting machine which is very fast and efficient.

Then we are putting collected sugar canes in crushing machine which is make a juice of sugar canes. Then after we use limestone filter which is purifying juice. Then in evaporator machine we add our purifying juice and give heat in the bottom of the evaporator these machine transfer juice into a syrup. Afterwards we centrifuge these syrup which is separates sugar crystals from syrup and we drying and cooling that sugar in a open cane.
