The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
How sugar is produced from sugar cane
Student answer (Band 6.5)
The diagram gives information about step by step process of how sugar is produced from sugar cane.
Overall, It was taking seven steps starting with growing sugar canes andapplying several operations like crushing, filtering, Evaporating and centrifuge to get sugar as a result.
Fristly Sugar canes seeeds are planted, it takes around 12 to 18 months for growth into sugar cane further sugar canes are harvested in two methods one is by using machine and truck cutting another method by farmers harvested using tools. The harvested canes are crushed into juice using rotation machine power. In the next step with conical shapped filter by arranged limestone to filter juice.
By heating sugar cane juice, juice becomes into syrup called evaporator the resulted syrup under goes to centrifuge which divided sugar crystals from syrup finally, crystals are getting dry and cool to get a sugar as a end product which is ready for using.
