The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given diagram shows the information about the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugarcane.

As it can be see from the diagram, firstly sugarcane needs to irrigate and growing period takes around 12-18 months after that it comes harvesting process it can be done from two types either by humans or machine. Then after comes the process of crushing the sugarcane bamboos to produce it's juice by a specialized machine.

Furthermore, juice which is produced from the sugarcane is purified by a limestone filter to remove the impurities and after purify juice is taken to the evaporator machine which transform the juice into the syrup by heating the machine in excessive temperature. Centrifuge process take place after the juice becomes syrup in that it separates sugar crystals from the syrup , sugar crystal is now taken to the different container for drying and cooling of sugar crystal that's how sugar is created from the sugarcane.

To conclude, making sugar from the sugarcane requires lot's of process from growing to cooling it also require patience and proper guidance to produce sugar.
