The diagram represents a seven step process which tells how sugar is produced from sugar cane.

Overall, the process is linear and consists of 7 stages, starting with growing sugar cane and ending with producing dried sugar.

The process begins with growing of sugar cane which takes about 12-18 months in ripening. After that, it is harvested either by machine or by hand. In the next stage, it goes through crushing process which converts it in the juice.

Once the juice is extracted, this is poured into a limestone filter for purification of that juice. Subsequently, this juice is heated in an evaporator which results in a clean syrup and then with the help of centrifuge, crystals of sugar are separated from syrup. Finally, the end product is obtained after drying and cooling.
