Student answer (Band 6.0)
The given picture illustrates the manufacturing process for making sugar cane. It explains how the sugar is produced from sugar cane with the help of a diagram.
The diagram demonstrates method of manufacturing process of sugar cane to obtain sugar from it. This process is divided into nine steps namely, growing, harvesting, crushing, purifying juice, evaporator, centrifuge, drying and cooling.
The first step is to grow sugar cane on a farm for 12-18 months and harvest it either with machines or hands. Then put the harvested sugar cane into a crushing machine which converts the solid sugar cane into juice. The next step is to purify the obtained juice with the help of a limestone filter and transfer it into an evaporator where the heat of evaporator converts filtered juice becomes syrup. After that the obtained syrup is transferred into a centrifuge which separates sugar crystals from the syrup. At last, the separated sugar is dried and cooled and here the process of production sugar from sugar cane is completed.
