The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The process chart illustrate the steps of how sugar is produced from sugar cane, this whole process contains different stages and steps which should have to be done to make sugar.

Overall, this is clear that the sugar making process has began from growing sugar canes and after completing all industrial or camical steps, it ends with drying and cooling of sugar.

To commence with, cultivating sugar canes into the farms which take almost 12 to 18 months to fully growing stage. After this, the sugar canes are harvested with the help of machines and men hands, which harvest it propertly and made it ready to send to next step. Further more, a crushing machine is used to make juice of sugar canes, which juice is used after in limestone filter. The limestone filter is used to purifying the juice properly.

Secondaly, with the help of evaporator the juice becomes to syrup by high temparature of fire. Moreover, the centrifuge step start, where sugar crystals are separated. Finally, the sugar is sent for drying and coolying for use purpoe
