The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The diagram belows, shows the detail process of making sugar. From the raw material sugar cane to final product sugar. The diagram covers all the stages from growing to drying and cooling.

The diagram, provides data about each and every single step of making sugar. From a raw sugar cane to crushed, and then how the juice was purified through various processes.

First of all, is the raw material which is the growing up the sugar cane. Which take approxmately 1.5 to 1.85 years to grow. After the sugar cane grow. It is then harvested by the farmers. By hands or can be harvest by using machines. After they were harvested the raw sugar cane is crushed in machine. To take out and seprate the juice. After all the juice seprated, it is filtered through the limestone filter.

This filtered juice is heated in evaporator to make a thick sweet syrup out of that filtered juice, Then this syrup is sent to for centrifuge to seprate sugar crystals from syrup. And at the end, it is dryed and colled to make it in solid form
