the flow diagram illustratres the entire seven stage manufacturing process by which sugar is commercially produced from raw sugar cane.

In the inital agricultural stages, sugar cane is first grown over a period of 12 to 18 months, after which it is harvested-either by hand or by using heavy farming equipment. Following the harvest the sugar cane is squeezed though a crushing mill which extracts the raw sugar cane juice while separating the solid waste stalk.

Post this, the sugar cane juice is first poured through a funnel with a limestone filter inside of it to get rid of impurities. Afterwards it is boiled in an evaporating chamber which boils away the excess water present in the juice, thickening it into a dence syrup. It is then passed through a centrifuge, a machine which spins rapidly and separates any remaining syrup from the solid sugar crystals that we require. Finally, these sugar crystals are dried and cooled in large containers and become the sugar we consume in our day-to-day lives
