The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

The diagram illustrates the process of manufacturing sugar crystals from the initial stage with growing sugarcane and ending with sugar cubes.

Overall, the process consists of series of main stages beginning with plantation of sugar canes and cluminating in finshed sugar. The procedure involves seven different steps during which material progressively produced.

Initially, it starts with plantation of sugar cane in the field, which grows for twelve to eighteen months before it is harvested. Harvesting is done manually which is labour intensive or can be done with the help of machines. This harvested sugar cane is then crushed with the help of crushing machine and then juice is extracted.

In the next stage the extracted juice is then purified with the help of limestone filter and further it is transported to evaporator where this juice is heated and then it becomes sugar syrup. This processed to centrifuge pump which seperates sugar crystals from syrup before it is dried and cooled to make finished product which is sugar.
