The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

How sugar is produced from sugar cane

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The diagram illustrates the process the production of sugar form sugar cane

Overall, the process consist of seven main stages, beginning with growing procedure of sugar cane and ending with dryed and cooling sugar in drum. The main feature is that sugar cane is crushing in machine became juice and after it evaopate in air.

Initially, sugar cane was growing for a long period 12 to 18 months of this process, after that farmer was cuting the cane on by one with axe and tractors was aslo cuting it for time saving. Subsequently they throw it one another into crushing machine and juice can be seen out of machine, aafterwards they purifying the juice with plastic limestone filter.

Following this, the jiuice was drop into a heating metal, then there is no moisture the juice it evaporate and become syrup. Next, the encircled centriuge separates sugar crystal from syrup and in the last drying and cooling sugar can be seen in a metal drum.
