The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The process diagram illustrate the making of sugar from sugar cane.

Overall, This is 7 step process of making sugar from sugar cane. starting with growing sugar cane. Ending the process with drying and cooling. The diagram shows two ways to harvest the sugar cane either with tractors or hand equipment. Crushing them for sugar cane juice.

The process starts with rising the sugar cane which usually takes 12 to 18 months for being mature enough to harvest. We can harvest the sugar cane with human workers or using the harvester which is operated by tractor.

Afterwards farmers sends sugar cane to the crushing facilities and then crush the sugar cane into juice.

The liquid sugar cane goes to purifier to extract any kind of unwanted stuff. Purifier funnel uses limestone filters to clear the juice. Then they sent the juice to evaporator. Heat boils the juice and turn into syrup.

Then comes the part centrifuge step here they separates the sugar crystals from the sugar cane syrup. Then comes the last part of process, they fill this into container and let it dry and cool.
