The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.

The diagram illustrates the whole process sugar cane undergoes for the production of sugar.

According to the diagram, sugar manufacturing from sugar cane consists of 7 steps in total. From raw material production which is growing sugar canes to drying and cooling for the final product sugar.

In first step, sugar canes are production from planting to growth which takes almost 12 to 18 months. Second step involves the harvesting of growned sugar canes. In third step, the harvested sugar canes are then crushed for extracting their juice. Next step involves the purification of extracted juice through a filteration process using limestone filters. Fifth step is the heating phase in which purified juice is heated in an evaporator until it becomes a syrup. Sugar crystals are then separated from syrup in sixth step.

The final phase includes the drying and cooling of the sugar crystals separated from the syrup which are now named as sugar.
