Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping abruptly at only 114 words. Because the text breaks off unfinished in the fifth stage, the process is only partially described, leaving out the final steps of centrifugation, drying, and cooling. Consequently, the task is only addressed in a minimal and incomplete way. While there is a brief attempt at an overview identifying the linear nature of the process, the lack of completion prevents a full reporting of the main features and stages depicted in the diagram.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization present, with an introductory sentence and some sequencing devices used to guide the reader through the initial steps, such as 'firstly', 'thirdly', and 'in the forth stagge'. However, because the text cuts off prematurely, there is no clear overall progression to a conclusion. Paragraphing is also poorly handled, with the entire response lumped into a single block of text rather than divided logically. Cohesive devices are used in a mechanical and repetitive fashion, reflecting a limited ability to structure a longer report smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for describing a process, featuring basic terms such as 'growing', 'harvested', 'juice', and 'heat'. There are numerous noticeable errors in spelling and word form, including severe typos like 'mannnnufacturing', 'sgur crystal s', 'andustrial', 'grow' instead of 'grown', 'cruhed', 'than' instead of 'then', and 'fift'. These errors and informal punctuation habits are frequent enough to cause some distraction for the reader, and the lack of precise less-common vocabulary prevents the writing from achieving a higher level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The grammatical range is very limited, consisting mainly of simple sentences with frequent omissions of punctuation, capital letters, and articles. There are noticeable errors in verb forms and passive structures, such as 'sugar cane is grow for 12 to 18 month' (missing plural and past participle forms) and 'mature cane harvested' (missing auxiliary verb for the passive voice). Furthermore, spelling mistakes and the complete lack of proper sentence boundaries and capitalization throughout the text detract significantly from grammatical and punctuation control.
