Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the process as having seven stages and give a relevant overview by naming growing as the first stage and drying and cooling as the final one. You also report the 12–18-month growing period and mention both harvesting methods, crushing, purification, evaporation and centrifuging, so the main sequence is broadly covered. Some details are less fully or clearly described: for example, the diagram shows juice becoming syrup in the evaporator, but this transformation is not stated, and the final product is sugar crystals separated from syrup before drying and cooling. Clarify what happens at each stage and how the stages connect. A more complete overview could also summarise the process from cane cultivation through to the finished sugar.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an opening, a brief overview and a paragraph describing the stages in sequence. Numbering the stages helps the reader follow the process, and phrases such as “The fifth step” and “The sixth step” provide basic signposting. However, the repeated sequence markers “First of all,” “Second of all,” and “Third of all” make the progression mechanical, while some links between ideas are unclear. For instance, “in this case” does not clearly connect crushing to the juice produced, and the final sentence combines the stage number, process and product awkwardly. Use fewer repeated markers and connect each stage with clear cause-and-result links, such as explaining that the juice is then purified before evaporation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use several relevant process terms, including “harvesting,” “crushing,” “purifying,” “evaporator,” and “centrifuge,” which show an attempt to describe the diagram specifically. However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “manufacturing process for making sugar cane,” “large tanker,” and “big jar.” The diagram concerns making sugar from sugar cane, and the equipment is better described as a container or vessel rather than a tanker or jar. Spelling errors such as “Firat,” “peried,” “monthes,” and “limestore” also reduce precision. Build a small bank of accurate process vocabulary and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use mostly simple sentences and make some attempts to describe stages in sequence, but grammatical control is inconsistent and the range of sentence structures is limited. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “The diagram illustrate,” missing or incorrect verb forms in “the process the grow sugar cane,” and the unclear construction “the sugar cane crushing the sugar cane with machine and make a juice.” Articles and plurals also need attention, as in “in the time period of 12 to 18 monthes” and “with machine.” These errors sometimes make the process difficult to interpret, although the numbered stages help preserve the general meaning. Practise forming complete passive sentences for process descriptions, for example, “The cane is crushed to extract the juice,” and check agreement, articles and verb forms.
