Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as sugar production and mention several relevant stages, including growing, harvesting, crushing, heating, separation and drying. The growing period of 12 to 18 months is also reported accurately, and you note that harvesting can be done by machinery or by a person. However, the overview is unclear and does not give a reliable summary of the process’s main features. Some stages are omitted or imprecisely described: for example, the limestone filter is not mentioned, and the centrifuge’s role in separating sugar crystals from syrup is only vaguely expressed. The claim that the sugar is then moved to cities and villages is not shown in the diagram. A clearer overview and a more accurate account of each stage would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an opening, an overview and a description of the stages, and the process is generally presented in sequence. However, progression is difficult to follow because the overview and body repeat or blur information, while connectors such as “Morever,” “firts offall” and “consequently” are used inaccurately or awkwardly. The final sentence also combines several stages with an unsupported destination, making the sequence less clear. Paragraphing is limited, and references such as “other stage” do not always make clear which step is being described. Use a concise overview followed by a separate, step-by-step paragraph, with simple accurate links such as “Next” and “Finally.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response includes some task-related vocabulary, such as “harvesting,” “crushing,” “juice,” “crystals” and “drying and cooling,” so the reader can recognise the general subject. However, the range is limited and many word choices or spellings make the meaning difficult to understand: “demonestrate,” “feilds,” “suger,” “dufficult methods” and “systematic sugar” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural for describing a process, including “drawn the juice” and “seperate with crystals.” Aim for precise process vocabulary and check spelling and collocations. For instance, describe cane being crushed to extract juice, then say the juice is purified and evaporated into syrup before crystals are separated.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect stages in longer sentences, but the response relies on limited sentence patterns, and these attempts are often faulty enough to make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “the suger canes make different places to dufficult methods” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “At first to growing sugar plants” does not form a complete, accurate clause. Verb forms and sentence boundaries are also problematic in phrases such as “after to ready to harvesting” and “and drawn the juice.” Use complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and keep the process description mainly in the present simple passive: “The cane is harvested,” “The juice is filtered,” and “The syrup is heated.” This would improve accuracy while still allowing some varied sentence structures.
