Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the coming years, cash payments may disappear, and people might have to use bank cards or mobile phones to purchase goods. I believe this change is likely to happen because digital payments are becoming increasingly popular. However, some people may be unhappy with this development because they prefer using cash for their daily purchases.

Firstly, I believe that cashless payments will become more common in the future because they are convenient and save time. people will use cashless system for payment because of cashback and online partner offers . online platforms provides good deal on big payment and coupons also which we can use in other brand website and payment done within a seconds so its save lot of time so this system will implement one day and it will give so much benefits .

Secondly, some people, especially the older generation, may not like this system because they believe that online fraud could increase and people might become victims of scams. Therefore, they feel that cash is a safer payment option. Moreover, many elderly people are not familiar with modern technology, so they find cash easier and safer to use. For example, my grandparents prefer paying with cash because they do not know how to use mobile payment applications.

In conclusion , i believe that digital payment will become a common in future because they are easy , time saving and convenient. however, some people may prefer a cash because they are worried about online fraud and security problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the question and state a clear view: cashless payments are likely to become common, while some people will prefer cash. The reasons are relevant, including convenience, offers, concerns about fraud, and older people’s unfamiliarity with technology. The example of your grandparents also supports the second point. However, the explanation of why cashless payments will eventually replace cash is less fully developed: the paragraph focuses on cashback and online deals, but does not explain how these trends could make cash unavailable in shops. Some claims, such as the benefits of digital payments, would be stronger with a more specific example or explanation. Your response is therefore relevant and complete, but the two sides are not developed equally in depth.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the main points. The main weakness is that cohesion becomes less controlled in the first body paragraph: several ideas about cashback, offers, coupons, and speed are joined in a long run-on sequence, making their relationships difficult to follow. The conclusion also repeats the main ideas rather than drawing them together smoothly. To strengthen progression, divide the first paragraph’s explanation into clear sentences and use linking phrases to show how convenience and commercial incentives could lead shops to stop accepting cash.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “cashless payments,” “online fraud,” “scams,” “mobile payment applications,” and “security problems.” These terms are relevant and show some range beyond basic everyday language. However, several expressions are imprecise or awkward, such as “cashless system for payment,” “good deal on big payment,” and “payment done within a seconds.” Repetition of “cash,” “payment,” and “people” also limits flexibility. There are spelling and word-form issues, including “time saving” where a more natural form is “time-saving.” Aim to use more accurate collocations and vary repeated terms; this would make your meaning clearer and more natural without changing your ideas.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause in “because they believe that online fraud could increase” and a result introduced by “so.” The main ideas remain understandable, but grammatical control is uneven, particularly in the first body paragraph, where a long sequence of clauses is not punctuated into clear sentences. There are also errors in agreement and sentence construction, for example “online platforms provides” and “this system will implement,” as well as missing or incorrect articles in “a common” and “a cash.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “people,” “i,” and “however.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts at longer structures.
