Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this era of digital world, everything is going digital, even the money also. People are adapting new technologies and starts paying with the cards or online with their smartphones. There are high chances that someday, individuals start using digital money. While opposite to it, there are many citizens who always want to use cash.
First and foremost, with the developing technology in this fast paced world, everyone is adapting new technologies, same goes for the money also. Today every bank is providing the facilities to manage your bank accounts online with their smartphones help of internet. Furthermore, everyone has their hectic schedule in this fast paced world so they don’t have the time to go to bank and take cash out as they are getting easier options rather than that.
Additionally, most of the employees are getting their pay through the payroll directly in their bank accounts and their expenses such bills, mortgage payments automatically gets deducted from the bank accounts. For instance, my friend has bought a car on finance and his payments goes automatically on the particular day biweekly. By this, he doesn’t have to do anything extra.
While on the other hand, there are people who still want to use cash for the payments. According to them, they don’t want to be dependent on any digital device for the money. Well that can happen anytime, like if you need to buy something urgent and your online banking and cards stop working the you dont have any other option.
To sum up all of that, in my opinion, young generation like to use modern technologies for their day to day life, which is definitely easier, while the people are aged they prefer to use cash. However, they have their opinions and they make sense also

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless future and the reasons for resistance. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that young people prefer technology and older people prefer cash, these points could be extended with more specific examples or deeper analysis of the societal implications. The argument regarding the reliability of digital systems is relevant but could be more robustly supported. Overall, the response covers all requirements of the task, but the depth of explanation is consistent with a Band 6.0 level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Furthermore', and 'Additionally' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'While opposite to it'. Referencing is generally clear, but the concluding paragraph is slightly repetitive and lacks a strong summary statement. The overall progression of ideas is coherent, but the use of cohesive devices could be more flexible and natural to reach a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'digital world', 'hectic schedule', and 'payroll'. There are some instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'even the money also' and 'with their smartphones help of internet', which slightly impede the natural flow. You attempt to use some less common vocabulary, but there are occasional errors in collocation and word form. To improve, focus on using more precise terminology and ensuring that your word choices are contextually appropriate rather than relying on repetitive structures.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the young generation'), subject-verb agreement ('his payments goes'), and preposition usage ('with their smartphones help of'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and missing commas. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, they are frequent enough to limit the score. Increasing the accuracy of complex structures and refining basic grammar will help you achieve a higher band.
