Student answer (Band 7.0)
In this technological era, people prefer to use cards or mobile phones as their primary payment method. Due to this some people believe that in future cash payment will entirely loose it presence. However, due to this massive change people who use cash for their daily payments will not be happy. I believe that use to cashless payment method is a positive development because it is more convenient and safer.
One main reason why I think cashless payments methods will be more common are rapid growth of technology. Paying bay cards or mobiles is easy and convenient because nowadays almost all retail stores have tap and pay system. Therefore, paying for any purchase has become quick. Moreover, people do not need to carry cash anywhere, instead of cash they have to just use cards which can be more convenient. In addition, spending can be track easily by using banking apps, while paying cash need to be track manually.
However, due to the increase of digital payment methos older will find it difficult. Some elderly people do not how to use the modern technology, so they prefer cash as their primary source of purchase. Therefore, if all retail market stops accepting cash this will creates desetifaction among old community. Additionally, older people prefer cash payments because they believe that there is risk of been scam if they use online payment system.
In conclusion, due to the technological advancement people use plastic money, rather than cash because it is more convenient and quicker. Due to this change in payments some older people find it difficult. I believe that in future all retail markets will prefer digital payment system because it is much safer than handling cash.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless future and the reasons for resistance to this change. The position is clear throughout, and the ideas are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about elderly people fearing scams is a strong argument but could have been expanded with more specific detail or a concrete example to reach a higher band. The response covers all requirements of the task, but the depth of analysis remains at a functional level rather than a fully extended one.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'In addition' are used to link ideas, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. There is a clear progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. Referencing is generally clear, although some minor issues with sentence-level cohesion occur, such as the slightly awkward phrasing in the second paragraph regarding tracking spending. Overall, the structure is effective and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'technological advancement' and 'digital payment system'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'loose it presence' (lose its presence), 'paying bay cards' (paying by card), and 'desetifaction' (dissatisfaction). These errors do not impede communication, but they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and spelling to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('one main reason... are rapid growth') and article usage. There are also errors in verb forms, such as 'spending can be track' (tracked) and 'risk of been scam' (being scammed). Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear throughout the text. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring consistent verb tense usage.
