Student answer (Band 6.0)

Number of individuals opine that in the next decads individuals will not prefer paying by cash despite it they may have give priority to cards or using mobile. I strongly believe this will happen. This essay will discuss the reason behind this notion.

To commence with former reason why people will not use physical money. To explicate it, the world has been became advance in technology. Nobody carry cash with them. If people want to pay bills they prefer card because it is easy to carry and there is no limit of cash, they can spend how much they want. For example, A survey conduct by a New York Times, which shows almost 88% people pay their expenses by cards and mobile phone instead of paper cash. As as result, This trend will drastically increase in the future.

Shifting towards the letter notion, In the current era, nobody amaze to using cash whether they shop online or offline. In other words, new generation feel that paper cash is a burden for them because if they want buy anything they have to go fast with bank where they have to follow long lines and going through by the long process and they have also go ATM where they limited cash allow to withdraw. For instance, World Economic Organization published a survey which shows 90% people apply for their credit, Debit card. Thus, paper cash will be not use by the people in the next 10 years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the future of cashless payments and the reasons why some people might be reluctant to abandon cash. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that people prefer cards for convenience, the second part of the prompt—why people might not be happy to give up cash—is not fully explored. You focus more on why people dislike cash (e.g., long bank lines) rather than addressing the concerns of those who might resist a cashless society, such as privacy issues, security risks, or the exclusion of the elderly. To improve, ensure you provide balanced arguments that directly answer the 'why' in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'To commence with former reason' and 'Shifting towards the letter notion' are awkward and do not flow naturally. The transition between ideas is sometimes abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. While there is a logical progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of some transitions limit the score. Using a wider variety of cohesive devices, such as 'consequently,' 'furthermore,' or 'in contrast,' would improve the flow significantly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'decads' (decades), 'world has been became advance' (has become advanced), and 'nobody amaze to using cash' (nobody is amazed by using cash). These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise terminology related to finance and technology, and ensure that your word forms (nouns, verbs, adjectives) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('A survey conduct'), incorrect verb tenses ('paper cash will be not use'), and missing articles or prepositions ('go fast with bank'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the text from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tense consistency and the correct use of auxiliary verbs, before attempting more complex structures.
