Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless future and the reasons why some people might be reluctant to adopt it. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about tax evasion is mentioned but not fully explored in terms of its implications. The position is clear, but the arguments could be more thoroughly supported with more nuanced examples. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a deeper analysis rather than just listing points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'The first point is', 'Consequently', and 'On the another side' are used to link sentences and paragraphs. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To clear it more'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words beyond simple sequence markers. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two main aspects of the prompt.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate their ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'contaminated' and 'modernized'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and collocations, such as 'time consuming' (used incorrectly to mean time-saving), 'running with the modernized world', and 'pros and corns' (a misspelling of 'pros and cons'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of the writing. Expanding the range of topic-specific vocabulary would help reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('electronic transactions helps'), article usage ('on the another side'), and prepositions ('prevent from diseases'). Some sentences are also slightly awkward in construction, such as 'doing payment within a second by apple pay'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the text. More attention to proofreading for basic grammatical rules is recommended.
