Student answer (Band 6.0)

Individuals are less likely to use their money to buy anything in the upcoming future instead they will prefer to pay by credit or debit card. This essay will discuss why I believe that people will switch to use their phone and why tit is hard e to leave cash for some people.

The first and the foremost reason is that using credit or debit card offer less stress as they do not need to bother about carry lots of money in their hand or bags to going for shopping or any long tours. To explicate it, if sometime people do not like to carry extra cash with them before leaving for any trip, they do not be worry and ashamed about having shortage of money while having fun with their friends. For instance, 70% humans have mentioned that they feel less burden, while doing shopping by card instead of cash in the malls. Moreover, there are less chance of being theft from money in their pockets or bags because having cards in their phone, they can easily lock their cards after being stolen from them. Therefore, there are less chance of being effected from robbery in the crowd of people.

On the other hand, giving up cash is not an easy task for old citizens. It is really hard for older people to learn new technology due to the fact that, they will like to stick using cash in their daily life. For example, in the U.S.A, Older people are still finding hard to use new apple phones because they are not friendly with this kind of technology yet. Furthermore, using credit card on phones can put somebody under large debut because they can spend more money on purchasing things than they are usually having in their saving account.

To conclude this, although there are some reasons why people will change their way of paying bills or money from cash to cards such as less stressful and more safety. However, giving up cash is hard for old people as they do not feel comfortable with new technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless future and the reasons why some people might be reluctant to adopt it. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the '70% of humans' is a vague statistic that lacks credibility, and the point about 'large debut' (debt) is slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, ensure that supporting examples are more specific and logically sound. The essay covers all requirements of the task, but the depth of analysis could be improved to move beyond general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'The first and the foremost reason', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To conclude this, although... However'. Additionally, there are some issues with referencing and flow, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition between the convenience of cards and the security aspect is a bit abrupt. The overall progression is clear, but the management of cohesion could be more sophisticated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'explicate' and 'upcoming future', though 'upcoming future' is redundant. Some word choice errors occur, such as 'being theft from money' instead of 'theft of money' and 'large debut' instead of 'large debt'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do highlight a lack of precision. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'they do not be worry', 'there are less chance', and 'they will like to stick using cash'. These errors are noticeable and occur throughout the text. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the writer attempts complex structures, the control over them is inconsistent, leading to a band 5.5 performance in this criterion. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence construction will help improve accuracy.
