Student answer (Band 6.0)

We are residing in a modern Era where everything is becoming digital.

So there is no denying in the fact that in upcoming days all the necessary payments may be done using technology and cards .In my opinion, this development will happen for sure.

First and foremost, As we all know technology is growing so fast in each and every field so cash will be demolished and people will no longer able to pay their bills and payments in cash. Not only this but also cards will replace cash.

Another significant reason is Nowadays banks are giving master cards and credit cards of thousands dollars at zero interest rates, which means even do people do not have cash or money still they are able to spend money for buying grocery or paying bills. Moreover people do not like to carry cash among themselves due to enormous reasons.

On the other side, some individuals believe giving up on cash is not good. They might think so because the people who are senior citizens or not so used to technology face difficulty while operating smartphones or using different cards. They feel more comfortable to pay in cash.

in my Prespective, it will happen in upcoming days that cash will be totally replaced as according to me it is a great development. The main reason behind this is increasing crime as there are a lot of robbery cases and if people do carry cash so always there is a huge risk of crime. For instance, one of my close friend was going to his college for paying his fees near around 4000 dollars and one homeless attacked on him and took his money and ran from there. So it would not happen if he does not carries cash with him.

To conclude, there are procs and cons of every thing but after considering all the above mentioned points I feel modern generation is more convenient to use cards instead of cash.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the prediction of a cashless society and the reasons why some people might be reluctant to adopt this change. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the argument regarding crime is supported by a personal anecdote, other points, such as the mention of bank credit cards, are underdeveloped and lack logical depth. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the implications of a cashless society more thoroughly, perhaps by discussing the digital divide or privacy concerns in greater detail, rather than relying on brief, repetitive statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'First and foremost', 'Another significant reason', and 'To conclude', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions feel mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Not only this but also cards will replace cash'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect ideas more naturally. Paragraphing is present but could be more effectively utilized to separate distinct arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'digital', 'transactions', and 'senior citizens'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'cash will be demolished' (instead of 'phased out') and 'carry cash among themselves' (instead of 'carry cash on their person'). There are also minor spelling errors like 'Prespective' and 'procs'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to convey your points with greater sophistication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('one of my close friend was'), article usage ('the upcoming days'), and awkward phrasing ('if people do carry cash so always there is a huge risk'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and capitalization. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for basic errors would be highly beneficial.
