Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, due to development of technology, shoppers may have to switch their transaction method from cash to online or via cards. In my opinion this will definitely implement in the upcoming time. However, some people would rather still prefer cash due to many reasons. I would support the new rule and my reasons for this statement are analyzed in detail further.
Firstly, the paperless transaction makes individual life easy and safe. People who travel all day might not prefer to carry cash due to robbery and stealing. They can easily use their phones or cards to make a payment. Another reason is they card users can do online shopping with EMI options. So they don't have to make full payment. For example klarna is giving four weeks EMI benefits with zero percent interest rate.
Forthermore, cash transactions needs hand written records in diary. While using cashless opinion, transactions are recorded in the bank applications. For example, people in old time used to write daily transactions in the diary for each transaction which is time consuming. Moreover, nowadays using credit cards gives people numbers of discounts and deals and also increase their credit scores. For example, Etihad Airways gives ten percent cashback on booking flights via credit cards.
On the other hand, some people would not accept this change due to insufficient knowledge of using technology. Some times technology also has error or cards doesn't work in some areas. On that time cash can be easy way to make payment. For example sometimes due to poor internet connection transaction can not be made or phone gets switched off.
To conclude this discussion, I believe digital transaction method has there are more perks than drawbacks including convenience and fast transaction. This method is very easy to use and also learn so anyone can learn to use it

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have addressed both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless society and the reasons why some people might resist this change. Your position is clear from the introduction. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat uneven. While you provide relevant examples like Klarna and Etihad Airways, some points, such as the mention of 'EMI options', are not fully explained in the context of a general audience. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is elaborated upon more thoroughly rather than listing multiple brief examples. Overall, the response is relevant and covers all requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader. However, the transition between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the sentence structure becomes fragmented ('I believe digital transaction method has there are more perks'). Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the flow of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'transaction', 'cashless', and 'perks'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'this will definitely implement' (should be 'be implemented') and 'cashless opinion' (likely meant 'cashless option'). Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'Forthermore'. While you attempt to use more specific vocabulary, these errors occasionally distract the reader. Focusing on precise word forms and common collocations will help you achieve a higher score in this criterion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('cash transactions needs', 'cards doesn't work') and awkward phrasing ('On that time cash can be easy way'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure in the conclusion is particularly weak and confusing. To improve, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately to avoid impeding the clarity of your message.
