Student answer (Band 6.0)

There has been significant development in science and technology due to that all traditional payment methods are eventually going to replace by cards or online transaction using mobile phones. I think next few years this transition is going to be happened and people will have mixed opinion because cash payment is convenient. This essay will explain why this is going to be happened what people will think this change with relevant reasons and examples.

One of the major reasons for possible dramatic change is how technology is evolving in the last few decades. There has been significant improvement on electronic payments as a result, people are gradually using more cards and mobile phone for purchase. In addition to that cash it self is a risk of theft or loss. However, online payment more secure and protected because it has multiple authentication process before use. For example, stolen money might be recovered while, money lost electronically might recovered.

There will be certain sections of population who might be disappointed because cash hold the trust, memory and history. In addition to that, it is easy and convenient specially those populace who are not aware of the improvement on innovation and technology. Moreover, cash holds the history and identity of country. For Example, Nepal hundred rupee has its flag, Everest and period during colonization, Which signifies country pride trust. If government provide enough education and support to those citizens through who are not aware of this changes and gives importance to history through different methods this transition might be smoother.

In conclusion, there is a high probability physical money will be replaced by electronic transition. However it holds the nation identify and pride. To make this shift more easier it needs ground level education.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless society and the reasons for public resistance. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits of digital payments are mentioned, the explanation regarding why people might be unhappy to give up cash is more descriptive than analytical. For instance, the point about 'trust, memory and history' is an interesting angle, but it could have been expanded with more specific examples beyond the mention of currency design. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explored with deeper reasoning rather than just stating the idea.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression of ideas is generally clear. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'In addition to that cash it self' and 'For Example, Nepal hundred rupee'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions between sentences feel abrupt. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the flow between sentences could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns and references clearly point back to the intended subjects.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'transition', 'authentication', and 'populace'. However, there are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'cash hold the trust' (should be 'holds') and 'electronic transition' (should be 'transactions'). Some phrasing is repetitive, and the word choice lacks the precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form within the context of the sentence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Examples include 'going to be happened' (should be 'going to happen'), 'cash it self is a risk' (should be 'itself'), and 'money lost electronically might recovered' (should be 'might be recovered'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with capitalization and comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and passive voice construction would be highly beneficial.
