Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the likelihood of a cashless future and the reasons why some people might be unhappy about this transition. However, the development is limited. The ideas are presented in a somewhat stream-of-consciousness style, making it difficult to follow the argument. While you mention the convenience of online shopping and the potential loss of small businesses, the points are not fully extended or supported with clear, logical reasoning. The response lacks a formal structure, such as an introduction or a clear conclusion, which prevents the ideas from being fully developed to a higher band level.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay lacks a clear organizational structure. There is no paragraphing, and the flow of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, such as the repetitive use of 'and' or 'but' to connect unrelated thoughts. Referencing is often unclear, and the transition between the discussion of digital payments and your personal anecdote about your father is abrupt. To improve, you should organize your ideas into distinct paragraphs with clear topic sentences and use a wider variety of linking words to connect your points logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive, often relying on basic words like 'things', 'good', and 'happy'. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'Reqwirements', 'Onestely', 'Purcheseing', 'memmorey', and 'exayiting'. These errors, combined with incorrect word choices like 'Lease Attitude' (likely meaning 'lazy attitude') and 'offline Shipping', occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to finance and technology and focus on accurate spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The grammatical control is weak. There are frequent errors in sentence structure, verb tense, and subject-verb agreement, such as 'We Did not go any were' and 'if we can did not change'. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, which makes the text difficult to read. There is very little evidence of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters in the middle of sentences. To improve, you should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the correct use of tenses.
