Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses both parts of the prompt: the future of digital payments and the reasons why some people might be reluctant to abandon cash. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The explanation regarding why people might be unhappy to give up cash is slightly confused, as the text mentions 'discounts and cash back' as a reason for reluctance, which is actually a benefit of digital payments rather than a reason to keep cash. The introduction is also a bit repetitive and lacks a clear, cohesive thesis statement. To reach a higher band, ensure that your arguments directly answer the specific 'why' questions posed in the prompt with logical, consistent reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In addition,' 'For instance,' and 'Furthermore.' However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are awkward, such as 'In this essay, I will discuss one day all payments through digital.' The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall structure is logical, the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible or natural, which limits the score to a 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'tentancy' instead of 'tenants' and 'analyise data to calucate in the monthly basis.' The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic terms like 'good' or 'convenient.' There are also several spelling errors (e.g., 'peopel,' 'eaxmple,' 'acessible'). To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that your spelling is accurate, as these errors occasionally distract the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'all payments mode using by electronic devices' and 'these sort of problems solve by the proof.' Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of minor errors in grammar and punctuation prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic sentence construction and ensuring that your verb tenses and passive voice structures are used correctly.
