Student answer (Band 5.0)

with the advanced technical era, the shoping payment changes from cash to online paymwnt. due tho having this changes there are some people who think, on one day all the payment should be pay by online method in the future while, others denied to follow this phenonmenon which will be discussed in the upccoming paragraoghs.

To commence with, convenice is the major reason why individuals prefer to pay the shoping bills by online or card. To elaborate it more, in the techincal era, every individauls kept their money in cards instead of havig it in pockets. Also, mostly youth use their mobile cards payment app to pay bills beacuse it is more convenient as they do not have to carry the money by physical and count the money to shop. For example, they just shop whether it is offine and online payment they prefer online payment or cards nowadays as compared to previous decades. Therefore, this is the reason to follow this trend.alt

Futhermore, safey is the another reason to support my point. As the world growing eveyday, most of the time when people shop by physical cash, there will be chances of theif. So if people prefer to shop by card rather than carry cash it will be paragmatic approach beacuse if any case there card will be theif by someone then they can cancelled their card service easily at any time.

On the paradoxical side, there are some peple who think it is not good mostly the elders because they mostly use cash to shop and not familiar to use card or mobile banking method.

In conclusion, altough their are some people who prefer to shop by cash; however the benefits of having cards and phones shopping methods can be denied.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: whether cash will be replaced by cards and phones, and why some people might be unhappy to give up cash. The writer establishes a clear position and attempts to support ideas with reasons, such as convenience and safety, while also acknowledging the perspective of elders who prefer cash. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive, and the reasoning can be overly generalized or unclear in places, such as the mention of theft prevention. Overall, the task is addressed to a Band 6 level, as the main parts of the prompt are covered, but the depth and clarity of support require further extension and refinement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a recognizable introduction, body paragraphs addressing different points, and a brief conclusion. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing, typos (such as alt and upccoming paragraoghs), and faulty cohesive devices. Paragraphing is attempted, but transitions between sentences and ideas are often mechanical or unclear (e.g., On the paradoxical side). Referencing is sometimes ambiguous, and the overall flow requires more precise and natural linking words to guide the reader smoothly through the argument. This places the response firmly at Band 5.0 for Coherence and Cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting common topic-related terms like convenience, mobile banking, and online payment. However, there are frequent spelling errors (shoping, paymwnt, thof, pragmatsic instead of pragmatic, theif instead of theft, altough) and issues with word formation and collocation (e.g., pay by online method, shop by physical cash). While the vocabulary used allows the writer to convey basic meanings, the density of lexical errors and unnatural phrasing restricts the score to a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response exhibits a very limited range of grammatical structures, with frequent errors in basic sentence construction, articles, verb forms, and preposition usage (e.g., due tho having this changes, all the payment should be pay, because it is more convenient as they do not have to carry the money by physical). Attempts at complex sentences often result in severe structural errors and ungrammatical clauses that cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and obscure meaning. Punctuation is also erratic. These persistent errors across most sentences align with the Band 4.0 descriptors.
