Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the upcoming years, it is presumed, people may restrict the handling of cash in markets. Whole transactions will be done online or through gadgets. I believe, it is happening these days and going to be prominent in near future. Certainly, there will be disappointment among few on not letting go the cash method possibly of the habitual trait and being not a slave of technology.

Advancements in technology is easing the life, among which is the payment method. People are more inclined towards card payments or by doing it online through their mobiles. It is apparently because of the flexibilty and convenience of doing payments. In addition to that, It is the most safest method, as it dimishes the risk of fraud and robbery due to encryption. For instance, people these days carry cards only when they go out for shopping or eating out preventing them to carry huge amount of money.

On the Contrary, Many people will not be ready to let go the cash method and unquestionably will be dissatisfied upon this change. Majorly, Elderly people will fall short of doing everything online. It is eminent because of the habit of utilizing cash their whole life. Moreover, they necessarily do not want to become the slave of technology and it is a huge task for them to learn, engage and practice online payment methods. Forexample, People above 50, are mostly seen carrying cash while shopping or even while doing basic errands.

In conclusion, In my perspective it is a positive and a definitive trend which is going to upsurge, where people will lean more towards paying via card or through applications on phone even though people will be outnumbered using techology advacements but still there will be people those will feel dejected.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt. You clearly state your position that a cashless society is becoming a reality ('I believe, it is happening these days and going to be prominent in near future') and discuss both why this transition is occurring (convenience, safety, encryption) and why some people, particularly the elderly, might be unhappy to give up cash due to habit and a reluctance to become dependent on technology. The ideas are relevant and adequately extended, showing a good understanding of the prompt's two main questions. To reach an even higher band, some of the supporting points could have been expanded with slightly deeper explanations or broader societal examples, but overall the task is fully and competently answered.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay demonstrates a clear overall arrangement and logical progression of ideas. You have successfully divided the text into four distinct paragraphs, each with a clear focus (introduction, reasons for digital payments, reasons for keeping cash, and conclusion). Cohesive devices are used throughout, such as 'In addition to that', 'On the Contrary', and 'In conclusion'. However, some cohesive referencing and transition phrases feel slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'It is eminent because of the habit' where 'evident' or 'due to' would flow better. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the contrasting viewpoints.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common and topic-specific terms such as 'encryption', 'upsurge', and 'dejected'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors that prevent a higher score. For example, writing 'dimishes the risk' (diminishes), 'safest method' (safest is already superlative, so 'most safest' is incorrect), 'fall short of doing everything online' (incorrect collocation), and 'Forexample'. Despite these occasional lexical inaccuracies, meaning remains clear throughout the essay and communication is never impeded.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating your ability to construct compound and subordinate clauses (e.g., 'Certainly, there will be disappointment among few on not letting go the cash method possibly of the habitual trait...'). There are, however, frequent grammatical errors and punctuation issues, such as missing articles ('the near future', 'the most safe'), incorrect preposition usage ('disappointment... on not letting go' instead of 'about'), and awkward comma placement ('In conclusion, In my perspective...'). While these errors are noticeable and require some re-reading, they do not severely impede overall comprehension.
