Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
With the advancement of the technology, In the future most of the people will prefer to pay by the card rather than the cash as it more convenient and saves time. However, few individuals would not like this development due to many reasons like lack of trust in the digital banking and applications as well as lesser knowledge of using technology.
To commence with, in this era of technology digital banking would become indispensable as everyone would like to use cards and banking applications to make payments in the future because it would be easier to use rather than carrying cash all the time. Moreover, visiting bank for small issues like withdrawing cash and depositing money waste people's time. consequently made people to adopt digital banking. As these smaller things can be quickly done from the comfort of their homes.
On the other hand, old people would not like this progress as they find technology complicated and harder to use. Moroever, they have been using and managing cash from longer periods of time therefore it will become difficult for them to become habitual to new ways. In addition, some people lack trust in the technolgy due to increase in cyber crimes and online frauds so these kind of people would believe in using cash.
In conclusion, I personally believe that in future technology would definitely erode a cash system but at certain extent as there will be still an old population who would continue use a cash to do purchases as well people who are afraid of online thefts and crimes and also not comfortable in using technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the question: you predict that digital payments will become dominant, and explain why older people and those concerned about cybercrime may resist giving up cash. Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion, and the reasons are relevant. The explanation of convenience is supported by examples such as avoiding trips to the bank, while the concerns about unfamiliar technology and online fraud are also appropriate. However, some points are asserted rather than fully developed: for instance, the prediction that cash will be eroded is not supported with a specific example or explanation of how widespread cashless payments might become. Developing the reasons more evenly and clarifying the extent of your prediction would make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the benefits and objections, and a conclusion. The contrast signalled by “On the other hand” helps readers follow the shift in viewpoint, and the main ideas generally progress logically. Some linking is mechanical or imprecise, however. “To commence with” and “Moreover” introduce points, but the sentence beginning “consequently made people to adopt digital banking” is not smoothly connected to the preceding idea. The conclusion also combines several concerns in a long sequence, making the final point less clear. Use transitions that express the exact relationship between ideas, and make sure each sentence connects grammatically and logically to the one before it.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “digital banking,” “cyber crimes,” “online frauds,” and “cash system,” so the main ideas are clear. There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “indispensable” and “erode.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “lesser knowledge,” “become habitual to new ways,” and “a cash system.” Spelling slips such as “Moroever” and “technolgy” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and precise forms—for example, “limited familiarity with technology,” “adapt to new payment methods,” and “cash-based system.” This would make your vocabulary more flexible and controlled without changing the meaning of your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “as,” “because,” and “therefore,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “as it more convenient” needs a verb, while “consequently made people to adopt” is an incomplete construction; “people would continue use a cash” also needs a different verb pattern and article use. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “In the future” after a comma and the lower-case “consequently” beginning a sentence. Practise checking each sentence for a complete subject and verb, and review articles and verb patterns. More accurate control of these structures would strengthen the range you are already attempting.
