Student answer (Band 6.0)
In this technological era, more people are using e-payments system rather than cash. People are having their smartphones and debit or credit card for shopping purposes. Payments are more easy, fast and convenient by using this methods. I think cash will no longer in use for pay for things in future. Nevertheless, some people are used to paying cash for their routine work. They are still not more aware with electronic payments methods. This essay will discuss excessive use of debit card and mobile phones for payments and why people not give on using cash.
The first and foremost reason for using cards and phones for payments is, this methods are more comfortable for making payments. This is fast, secure and effective payment approach. Nowadays Many shopkeepers only accept payment through card. So they do not have to maintain record books and hire a cashier person. Many shopkeepers using effective payment applications such as google pay, phone pay, BHIM uni and paytm. These all apps are not just effective but also it secure and reliable. So, they can save their cost and earn more profits. All people maintain monthly budget for their expenses. Smartphones has best application for payment and also people can set limits for their expenses. In result, more and more people are use to with bank transfer. Also it offer automatic record keeping system. Moreover, people do not want to take risk of loss of cash. Cash is hard to maintain and higher risk of theft. For example, Me and my brother always do shopping by mobile transfer because it is safe and fast also we get rewards on minimum spent on shopping. We can do all our routine expenses by card payment such as, bills payment, school and college fees, car maintenance, grocery and fast food.
On the other hand, some people are avoid to using card while shopping. They might not have enough knowledge and skill to use such payment systems. Majority senior citizens are not using such applications. They are habituated with cash payments and they cannot understand language, and feels more complex to learn this method in this age. Cash payments are provide privacy to people. Many people does not want to reveal their transactions history. They only prefer to keep diary for record of transactions. For example, My grandfather still using cash while shopping and payment of bills and they are using diary for records.
To conclude, Shopping is more easy with card and mobile payments. Also people can do their day to day work more efficiently and effectively by using card. These payment methods also provide security and save them from major cash losses. Although, some people only using cash payments while shopping and routine work because of privacy and lack of knowledge of electronic payments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear: you expect cash to become less common, and you explain why some people may resist giving it up. You address both parts of the question and support your points with relevant examples, including shopkeepers’ use of payment apps and your grandfather’s preference for cash and a written diary. The discussion of convenience, security, privacy and older people’s familiarity with cash gives the response good coverage. To strengthen the development further, explain more directly whether cash will disappear entirely or simply become less widely used; the opening predicts it will no longer be used, while much of the essay describes a shift in preference. Some claims, such as shopkeepers saving costs, could also be linked more explicitly to the future trend.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the growth of electronic payments, a contrasting paragraph on reluctance to use them, and a conclusion. The contrast marker “On the other hand” helps signal the change in focus, and examples generally appear alongside the ideas they support. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some features of stronger progression. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical: “Moreover,” “Also,” and “So” recur, and the first body paragraph combines several points—shopkeepers’ costs, budgeting, theft, rewards and everyday expenses—without clear grouping. Organise related reasons into a more deliberate sequence and use pronouns or linking phrases with clearer references to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “e-payments,” “transactions history,” “privacy,” “automatic record keeping” and “risk of theft.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited by repeated general words such as “effective,” “people,” “payments” and “cash.” Several noticeable word-choice and collocation errors make some phrases awkward, for example “excessive use” where you mean increasing use, “give on using cash,” and “minimum spent on shopping.” Some expressions are also formed inaccurately, such as “bank transfer” when referring broadly to digital payments. Aim to learn common topic collocations and choose precise terms; this will make your argument sound more natural and reduce occasional difficulty for the reader.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and you use some subordinate clauses, such as “because of privacy and lack of knowledge” and “although some people only using cash.” However, the range is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors occur in verb forms and agreement (“Smartphones has,” “people are use to,” “people does not”), articles and plurals (“an e-payments system,” “payment applications”), and sentence construction (“I think cash will no longer in use for pay for things”). These patterns recur and sometimes make the reader pause, even though the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then extend them with one subordinate clause at a time. Check subject–verb agreement and ensure each sentence has a complete, correctly formed verb.
