Student answer (Band 6.0)

Technology has advanced considerably in recent years and online applications have emerged as a result of this development. A significant number of people have embraced this development and started to pay their bills by using online payment applications. Future is very unpredictable yet some people predict that cash payment will not exist in the future. From my perspective, online transactions offers many benefits to the people and governments but I am not completely agree with cashless transactions. This essay will outline the reasons and potential of this development.

To begin, there are several reasons why payment will not be completely cashless in the future. The first and foremost reason is that we are living in a society with diverse range of people. Some vulnerable group of people may not completely give up on this because banks have failed to win the trust in society. It is particularly biggest concerns in developing countries. For instance, Punjab national bank was declared bankcurrupt previous year in India and people who have accounts in that bank were all liquidated. This example will affect the reliance of people on financial institutes.

Conversely, governments and financial institutions may encourage people to use cashless transactions. It is observed that online transaction is fast, safe and secure. In contemporary world, individuals are able to complete their transactions within a second without any obstacles. However, payment by cash has some pitfalls. Fraudent used to inject fake currency in market, but cashless transactions are effective measures to avoid such problems.

To sum up, although online transactions will increase, transaction by cash would not completely stopped. Cash money holds significant values in our society and many people in our society give cash during festivals, celebrations to show their love and respect to young people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you suggest cash may continue to be used and explain why some people may distrust financial institutions, while also noting the convenience and security of digital payments. Your position is present, especially in “I am not completely agree with cashless transactions” and the conclusion, but it is not consistently precise: the opening predicts benefits without clearly answering whether a cashless future will happen. The bank example gives a relevant reason, but its connection to people refusing cashless payments needs clearer explanation. The point about giving cash at festivals is useful, yet it is introduced briefly and not developed. Make your prediction explicit and extend each reason with a clear explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining resistance to cashless payments, a contrasting paragraph on their advantages, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin,” “Conversely,” and “To sum up” helps readers follow the broad direction. However, some links between ideas are not fully clear. For example, the bank-failure example is followed by “This example will affect the reliance,” but the precise effect on people’s willingness to use digital payments is left implicit. The contrast paragraph also shifts from speed and security to fake currency without fully connecting these points. Use referencing that states the relationship between ideas directly, and build each paragraph around one main point with supporting explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “online transactions,” “financial institutions,” “vulnerable group,” and “fake currency.” These choices help communicate the subject, and you attempt more formal expressions such as “significant number” and “contemporary world.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, however, including “cash payment will not exist,” “bankcurrupt,” “all liquidated,” and “Fraudent used to inject fake currency.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, even though the overall message remains understandable. Aim for natural, precise combinations and check spelling and word forms. For instance, describe people as losing access to their deposits rather than saying they were “liquidated.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “although” and a relative clause in “people who have accounts in that bank.” Most ideas can be understood, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. Examples include “online transactions offers,” where the plural subject needs a plural verb, “Future is very unpredictable,” which needs an article, and “I am not completely agree,” which requires a different verb construction. The conclusion also has a tense and passive-form problem in “transaction by cash would not completely stopped.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly formed main clause.
