Student answer (Band 5.5)

In todays evolving world, there are a lot of new developments happening in every field and of the the major sector is contactless paynments, which included paying by card. Also, as technology has eveloved many indudials are using digital device for making there daily paynments due to which the tranastions through cash has reduced signifincantly. I dont belive this will completely wanish the use of currency.

Firstly, a lot of individuals these days use the degital device to make the paynment, which is a convient way as you dont need to carry cash everytime, many times they forget to carry wallet or forget cash in this case this is a convient way for buying daily needs. However, its also a secure process insted of carying paper currency. Sometimes there are chances you might loose the cash while travelling, or at resturant. Nevertheless I dont think this will the feature, where shops dont accepy cash. We cant trust completly on technology sometimes this will fail, if this happend we do require an alternative for making the paynments.

Secondly, there are lot of scams that can happend with the cards, they steal the card number, the CVV and do the fraud. Many people dont belive on this sort of paynments so, they eventually they trust on other source of exchanging the money. A survey was done in Africa by BBC news where they government has developed a app for making paynments, within two years of launching the app, about 250 core worth of money was been scammed as there was a glitch to which the scammers were able to find and use for their benifit. Moreover eardly people are not fimilar of using the rising technology, in this case they still trust on cash.

In conclusion, paynments via tap or pin are secure and easy way to by daily need. It dont require you to carry physical money for buying daily needs. But still cant replace it with cash, as many people would still suggest using cash as its more trusty and easy to track. So, I am pretty sure people will not be happy to give up on cash.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you give a clear view that cash will not disappear completely, and explain why some people may resist cashless payments. Your points about convenience, technology failures, scams, and older people are relevant. The example of a payment-app scam also supports your concern, although its details are difficult to assess and the link to people’s reluctance could be explained more explicitly. Some ideas are less fully developed than others: for instance, you mention older people’s unfamiliarity with technology but do not explain the practical difficulties they may face. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or a specific, credible example, and make your prediction about whether cashless shopping will happen one day more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present reasons, and a conclusion restates your view. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical, and connections between ideas are not always clear. In the first body paragraph, the move from convenience to security and then to technology failure could be signposted more carefully. The sentence beginning “Many people dont belive…” repeats the idea of trust without clearly linking it to the scam example. Use pronouns and linking phrases with clear references, and organise each paragraph around one main reason followed by explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “contactless payments,” “transactions,” “scams,” “CVV,” and “glitch,” and you attempt some less common terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “paynments,” “eveloved,” “tranastions,” and “vanish.” Several expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “the feature” for the possibility of shops refusing cash and “more trusty” to describe cash. Repeated use of “convenient,” “cash,” and “payments” limits variety. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for this topic; choosing precise phrases such as “cashless system” and “rely on digital payment methods” would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “which,” “as,” and “if,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some sentence structures and grammatical forms are inaccurate. For example, “I dont think this will the feature” is missing a verb, while “they eventually they trust” repeats the subject. There are also errors in agreement and verb forms, as in “transactions through cash has reduced” and “the money was been scammed.” Articles and sentence boundaries need attention too; “a app” and the long sentence beginning “A survey was done…” would benefit from correction and clearer punctuation. Practise checking each sentence for a subject and verb, then review agreement, tense, and articles.
