Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent times, technological advancements especially in the form of gadgets have transformed the overall world. After some time, people will rather use credit cards and devices instead of using cash for their spendings which is somehow good. However, I think it is a positive approach and this is going to implement soon as it easy and convenient. While, some believe it is not worthy to replace using cash. In this essay, we will discuss reasons for it.
The major reason why individuals prefer using cards and phones is because it is simple and convenient. For example, phones are taken everywhere nowadays because it has all the essential features requires at workplace, bus, stores etc. so, A single device with all the important aspects is only needed now. It reduces the effort of carrying cash all the time. However, it is also less time taking than using cash, just a tap on the screen and you can easily pay. So, these minute changes has evolved the generation. The other reason is you can get the history of all the transactions with authentic date and time. It helps you keep the proper record of your balance coming in and going out.
While, on the other hand, some do not like this and are not ready to adapt it in their lives especially the older ones. Paper money gives them nostalgia and they feel positive about it. For instance , old people prefers buying groceries with their hand using cash. Similarly, they like giving pocket money to their kids or grand kids by using these. It gives them a sense of peace and reminds them of their childhood memories. which keeps them happy and lively.
In conclusion, In the upcoming times, public will not use paper money as using cards has become more smooth and easy process for them. While, others do not try to understand it because they consider their previous memories related to it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you predict that cash use will decline and explain why some people may resist, particularly older people who value the memories and reassurance associated with paper money. Your position is generally clear, and the points about convenience and transaction records are relevant. However, the prediction that cashless payments will become universal is asserted rather than fully explained, and the reasons for resistance focus mainly on nostalgia. Develop practical concerns too, such as limited access to technology, privacy, or payment failures, and explain how these could affect people. The example of giving pocket money adds support, but the essay would be stronger if each main idea were extended with clearer reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on the advantages of digital payments, a paragraph on resistance, and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally easy to follow, and examples are placed alongside the points they support. However, some linking is mechanical or confusing. For instance, “While, on the other hand” combines two contrast markers, and “In this essay, we will discuss reasons for it” does not clearly preview the two parts of the argument. The conclusion also repeats the prediction without bringing the reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing, and ensure each paragraph develops one central point in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “technological advancements,” “transactions,” “authentic date and time,” and “nostalgia,” which helps communicate the topic and some specific ideas. There are also attempts at less common phrasing, but several choices are unnatural or imprecise, such as “spendings,” “not worthy to replace,” and “more smooth and easy process.” Some expressions, including “minute changes has evolved the generation,” make the intended meaning less clear. Aim for accurate collocations and natural word forms rather than adding elaborate phrases. For example, describe payments as “convenient” or “faster,” and refer to “keeping track of transactions” instead of “the proper record of balance coming in and going out.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “For example” and “Similarly.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some errors in agreement, sentence boundaries, articles, and punctuation remain. Examples include “it has all the essential features requires” and “these minute changes has evolved,” where the verb forms do not agree with their subjects. “Old people prefers” also has a subject–verb agreement error, while “which keeps them happy and lively” is an incomplete sentence in this context. Review agreement and clause construction, and check capitalisation and punctuation after sentence openings. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
