Student answer (Band 4.0)

Hi, I'm jose nicolas carlos and i'm gonna share to you my opinion.

In my point of view, I think people are going to need some cash because not all phones have a internet access, and i think of the card is for only in savings account, because what i do sometimes if i don't have a cash in my pocket i used online transfer in my cellphone to pay the bills that i consume, and also in my wallet i put there my personal money like gas, food, emergency money and savings card.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You give a personal view that cash will still be needed, and you begin to explain this by noting that not everyone has internet access on a phone. You also mention using a phone transfer to pay bills and keeping money for fuel, food, emergencies and savings. However, the response only partly addresses the task: it does not clearly explain whether a cashless future will happen, and it gives little explanation of why people might object to giving up cash. The examples are brief and some points are unclear. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough development to answer both parts fully. Add a clear position and develop each reason with explanation or a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic sequence: you introduce your opinion, then give reasons and personal examples. Linking phrases such as “because” and “and also” help show how some details relate. However, the ideas are crowded into one paragraph and the progression is difficult to follow, particularly in the sentence about cards, savings accounts, online transfers and bills. The opening greeting and self-introduction do not help organise an IELTS essay. Use separate paragraphs for your position, reasons people may resist cashless payments, and a conclusion. Clearer links between each point, rather than repeatedly adding ideas with “and,” would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant everyday vocabulary, including “internet access,” “online transfer,” “bills,” “emergency money” and “savings.” These terms make your general meaning understandable. However, the range is limited for discussing the broader issue, and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “share to you my opinion,” “the card is for only in savings account,” and “the bills that i consume.” The phrase “savings card” is also unclear in this context. Aim for more precise language about payment methods and people’s concerns, such as privacy, access to banking, or budgeting. Check collocations and choose words that express the intended meaning directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences joined with “because” and “and,” so there is some variety in sentence structure. The main ideas can generally be understood, but control is uneven. For example, “not all phones have a internet access” has an article error, while “if i don't have a cash … i used online transfer” mixes conditional and past-tense forms. The long sentence beginning “because what i do sometimes” is difficult to follow because several clauses are joined without clear structure. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, including “i” and the sentence opening after the greeting. Practise accurate articles, verb forms and shorter, clearly punctuated sentences before adding more complex clauses.
