The parents of your Australian friend Chris have invited you to a surprise birthday party for him/her. Write a letter to Chris's parents. In your letter:

• say why you think Chris will enjoy the surprise party
• explain why you won't be able to attend the party
• give details of a plan to see Chris at a different time

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mr and Mrs Collins,

I hope you are doing well. Once I got the news of a surprise birthday celebration for Chris, I was elated.

I am sure Chris will be amazed at his birthday party, because he likes this kind of surprise. He always loves to celebrate his birthday as a grand occasion, and now you are throwing a grand party for him. He will be happy after knowing these.

Although I am the most excited person to come to this party, I am unable to attend it. Unfortunately, my father is sick, and I have to visit him. I am going to India this week. Hence, I can not attend the celebration. I feel terrible about it.

When I come back from India, I will definitely visit Chris. I already plan to meet him after 2 weeks for dinner. We will watch a movie first, and then we will go for dinner to compensate him for my absence on his birthday.

Thank you for your invitation on birthday celebration. I hope it goes well and you enjoy it a lot.
