Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have addressed all three bullet points in the prompt: explaining why Chris will enjoy the party, stating why you cannot attend, and proposing an alternative meeting time. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a friend's parents. However, some ideas are slightly under-developed. For instance, the explanation regarding your exam could be more clearly linked to the conflict, and the plan to see Chris could be more naturally integrated. Overall, the response is relevant and covers the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a specific requirement of the task. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However' and 'Therefore' to link your ideas. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'I won't total deny to come so a day after'. Additionally, the referencing in the first paragraph ('When he see his companions in a party') is slightly unclear. Improving the flow between sentences would help the text feel more natural and cohesive.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'unforgettable', 'companions', and 'celebrate'. There are some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'admire surprises' instead of 'enjoys surprises', 'preparing to be succeed it' instead of 'preparing to succeed in it', and 'keep inform him' instead of 'keep him informed'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they do limit the precision of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('Chris really admire', 'When he see') and incorrect verb forms ('I won't total deny'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and verb tense consistency will significantly improve your accuracy.
