Student answer (Band 7.0)
In todays modern era, there is a significant awarness of being physically fit in everyone. Some people argue that there is an increase in number of individuals hiring a physical fitness coach personally rather than playing sports and taking group classes for excercise in some countries. According to my perspective, this is a positive development and this essay aims to discuss a few negatives as well as positive side briefly.
People sometimes prefer to hire a personal fitness trainer. Firstly, they prefer "safety supervision" for them and, there is a less chance of getting an injury or a strain if the coach is available. Moreover, the physical fitness supervisors provide "tailored diet plans" specifically to a person's need according to health requirements. For example, a friend of me is taking the exercise classes with coach where she enjoys privacy as well as she is losing her weight due to strictly following instructions and guidlines from her fitness trainer, by which she is adding benefits to her health. Furthermore, there is a flexible scheduling as it is a one-on-one session and the time can be decided between the two according to their routines, as compared to those taking group exercise classes on same hours daily, which is another positive reason to book lessons with a coach.
On the other hand, it has some negative aspects as well. To begin with, it can be expensive hiring a coach but to do exercise in a group class is cheaper. Also, playing sports is a good opportunity for improving social frienships and the person who is not participating remains deprived of social relationships which is another drawback of taking solo classes of fitness with a coach and not taking part in group classes or sports.
In conclusion, hiring a teacher for physical fitness can be beneficial holistically due to flexible scheduling, safety supervision, privacy and getting tailored diet plans from a coach. Conversely, it can be expensive or sometimes can make a person deprived of team building sports and group exercise activities but the benefits outweigh the drawbacks so it is a positive development to hire a coach in-person for remaining physically fit and active and this positive trend would be increased in future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and providing a clear position on whether it is a positive or negative development. The ideas are relevant and generally well-supported, such as the mention of safety and tailored plans. However, the development of the 'negative' side is slightly less detailed compared to the 'positive' side. The essay maintains a consistent position throughout, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main points. To reach a higher band, ensure that the negative aspects are explored with the same depth as the positive ones, perhaps by providing a specific example for the social drawbacks mentioned.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'On the other hand' are used effectively to link sentences and paragraphs. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as 'a friend of me' and 'the person who is not participating', which slightly affect the naturalness of the cohesion. Overall, the paragraphing is appropriate and the structure supports the reader's understanding of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 7.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated collocations like 'tailored diet plans' and 'safety supervision'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'a friend of me' (instead of 'a friend of mine') and 'the physical fitness supervisors' (which is slightly redundant). Spelling is mostly accurate, though 'awarness' and 'frienships' contain errors. The range is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly, but it lacks the precision and variety of less common lexical items that would characterize a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are frequent minor grammatical errors, such as 'In todays modern era' (missing apostrophe), 'increase in number of individuals' (missing article), and 'a friend of me is taking the exercise classes with coach' (missing articles). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that hinder the flow. The student demonstrates a good grasp of basic grammar, but more consistent control over articles and prepositions is needed to achieve a higher score.
