Student answer (Band 6.0)

While it has been suggested that having a persona trainer would significantly improve the overall fitness of a person, I firmly believe that Individuals should rather invest in other sports and health diet.

Social media and the trending Instagram reels : are the primary reasons for this shift. After watching the videos of famous personalities performing exercise with the help of a personal trainer on the social media. People blindly follow the trends without knowing the demand of their own body, that actually they require a personal trainer. Because this will effect on their budget, as the hourly fee of a professional trainer is around $35. Hence, it is clear that some prefer personal trainer just because they saw their favorite film start is having a professional trainer.

Apart form that, some people hire a personal trainer due to their health issues, as they suffer from cervical , back pain or other muscle related problem. For them performing exercises without proper guidance, might result into sever health issues. Take a new mother, for example, if a women wants to join a gym very first time after delivery, she definitely requires different approach and mild exercise, in this case personal trainer is must. So, it is clear that some people who are suffering from health issues, need an advise from expert in the fitness world.

From my perspective, one should follow a healthy diet and examine their body type first before spending thousands on trainers this will not only help .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hiring personal trainers and an evaluation of whether this is positive or negative. However, the development is uneven. The reasons are identified, but the evaluation of the trend is underdeveloped and lacks a clear, sustained position. The conclusion is abrupt and incomplete, failing to fully synthesize the argument. While the response covers the requirements, the lack of depth in the final paragraph and the somewhat superficial treatment of the 'positive or negative' aspect limits the score to a 5.5, as the ideas are not fully extended or supported throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the awkward transition 'Apart form that' and the repetitive use of 'So, it is clear that'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by sentence-level errors, particularly in the final paragraph, which ends mid-sentence. While there is an attempt to use logical sequencing, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the disjointed nature of the final section prevent a higher score. Paragraphing is present but the internal flow needs more refinement.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'persona trainer' instead of 'personal trainer', 'health diet' instead of 'healthy diet', and 'film start' instead of 'film star'. The student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'professional trainer' and 'guidance', but the overall range is limited. Spelling errors, such as 'sever' for 'severe' and 'advise' (used as a noun instead of 'advice'), occur frequently enough to occasionally distract the reader, though they do not fully impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include incorrect article usage ('a women', 'the social media'), subject-verb agreement, and punctuation errors, such as the unnecessary colon after 'reels'. The sentence structure is often fragmented, particularly in the second paragraph where sentences like 'Because this will effect on their budget' are grammatically incomplete. The final sentence is unfinished, which significantly impacts the assessment of grammatical control. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of errors is high, keeping the score in the 5.5 range.
