Student answer (Band 6.5)

The employment of a fitness trainer is a trend that is increasing with time but some people do not like such trainers and they like to spend their time for other sports which keeps them healthy. In my opinion we should do sports rather than spending time with a trainer.

The fitness trainer is a good option for such people which are not able to do physical games. Such personal trainers are helpful in doing some exercises which can not be done alone. But the people which are physically fit, they should not choose this option because such fitness coaches do not provide such a rapid exercises which are neccessary for a healthy peson. For instance, when we play Football, our whole body is moving and our metabolism is very fast during whole period, while when we do training or fitness at home, we are doing exercises of one part of body, for example our legs, and other parts of the body are in rest.

When we focus on sports, this will give us sense of freedom. We use our energy to perform best in such games, in which our whole body is doing workout and sweat is produced which is very impressive indication of doing a good physical activity, and ofcourse our body is struggling against obesity. Similarly, when a person is trying to do a goal in his game, he is getting a mental satisfaction which reduces his stress and mental problems. For example, a person who is doing physical games on daily bases, such routine will give him guarantee of both physical as well as mental health. Otherwise, a trainer will unable to do anything for your mental peace.

In the conclusion, I would like to say that hiring a trainer to remain physicaly fit is a negative development of our society. We should prefer physical games or sports in order to remain healthy in both terms, mentally and phyicaly.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hiring trainers and the evaluation of this trend. However, the development is somewhat limited. The reasons provided are a bit simplistic, focusing primarily on the idea that trainers are for those who cannot play sports. The argument regarding why it is a 'negative development' is clear but lacks depth, relying on personal opinion rather than broader societal analysis. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the reasons—perhaps discussing the convenience of modern lifestyles or the desire for personalized guidance—and provide more nuanced support for your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central idea. There is a basic progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Similarly', 'For instance', 'In the conclusion'). Some transitions between sentences feel abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'such' to refer back to previous points, which sometimes creates awkward phrasing. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good option', 'physical games', and 'doing exercises'. There are also some noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'rapid exercises' instead of 'high-intensity workouts' and 'doing a goal' instead of 'achieving a goal'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or topic-specific vocabulary limits the score. Incorporating more precise terminology related to fitness and health would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the fitness trainer'), subject-verb agreement ('the people which are', 'a trainer will unable'), and pluralization ('a healthy peson'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are run-on or lack necessary commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of relative pronouns like 'who' instead of 'which' when referring to people.
