Student answer (Band 7.0)

In contemporary era, an increasing number of people have chosen to hirepersonal fitness instead of participating in sportsor joining exercise clasees. This essay will elucidate reasons for that, and I believe this is a postive development .

To commence with, the personal trainers provide customised workout plans based on individuals's fitness level, health condition and personal goals. Unlike group clasees, where everyone follows the same routine, one on-one coaching allows trainers to focus on specific needs. For example, a person recovering from a knee injury can receive a specialised exercise programme that promotes recovery while reducing the risk of further injury. Moreover, the growing awareness of health and fitness, combined with increasingly busy lifestyle. To expound, Many people find it difficult to attend exercise classes at fixed times, whereas personal trainers offer flexible shedules and can even provide online coaching. Thus, aforemention reasons can lead more individuals prefer personal fitness.

To further my argument, this is a positive development because personal trainers not only exercise are performed correctly ,reducing the likehhod of injuries caused by poor technique but also provide motivation and accountability. For instance, Many individuals who struggle to exercise independently remain committed because regular sessions with a trainer encourage discipline and consistency. Althoughnhiring a personal trainer may be more expensive tha joining a gym or sports club, the long-term health benefits often outweight the additional cost.

In conclusion, the growing popularity prefer personal fitness trainers instead of sports or exercise due to personalised guidance and fexible scheduling. In my perspective, this is postive trend because it promotes safer exercise , improves motivational , and helps people maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing clear reasons for the trend and a distinct opinion on whether it is a positive development. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the discussion on injury prevention and flexible scheduling. However, some points could be extended further to reach a higher band. For instance, the argument regarding motivation is sound but could benefit from a more specific real-world example beyond a general statement. The position is clear throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarises the main points. Overall, the response meets the requirements of the task well.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organised with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the evaluation of the trend. Cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or the connection between sentences is a bit abrupt, such as the sentence fragment 'Moreover, the growing awareness of health and fitness, combined with increasingly busy lifestyle.' Despite these minor issues, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at more sophisticated phrasing like 'elucidate', 'customised workout plans', and 'accountability'. However, there are several spelling errors ('clasees', 'shedules', 'likehhod', 'outweight', 'fexible') and minor word-choice inaccuracies ('In contemporary era' should be 'In the contemporary era'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise vocabulary to reach the higher bands. The range is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as missing articles ('In contemporary era'), subject-verb agreement issues ('Many individuals... remain', 'aforemention reasons can lead more individuals prefer'), and incomplete sentences ('Moreover, the growing awareness...'). Punctuation is also inconsistent in places. While the meaning remains clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on sentence construction and ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, as well as refining the use of articles and prepositions.
