Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, everyone is very conscious about their health. They want to look fit, so they are following their diets, and also they are doing some exercises in their routine. Some of the people also hire a personal trainer to keep fit and healthy.
The reason behind it is a professional. They are thinking that health is a very critical thing; if you are healthy, you can live happily. So they think doing the exercise under any professional trainer is a good way to do exercises. Also, some of the exercises are hard to do, and if you are doing them without a trainer, it causes harm to your body. For instance, if you are doing yoga, you must have knowledge about each step; otherwise, you may harm your body.
In addition, playing a sport does not always keep your body fit; sometimes you get injured while playing. And while playing any sports, you can fit physically but not mentally. Some of the people are looking fit physically, but they are not as fit mentally. So, playing sports is not only the exercise; you may have to do some other exercises for the mental stress.
Furthermore, doing exercise classes is not suitable for everyone because most of the people are not matching the classes' time with their daily routine life. Nowadays, everyone has a hectic work schedule, and they don't have time to go to classes.
From my perspective, hiring a personal trainer has a positive impact on your health. Because a trainer has enough knowledge about your diet and also the exercises that are suitable for your body. So, you can do that exercise easily, and you may always be fit and healthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for hiring personal trainers and the evaluation of whether this is a positive or negative development. The ideas are relevant, such as the need for professional guidance to avoid injury and the flexibility required by hectic schedules. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For example, the argument regarding mental health while playing sports is not fully explored or clearly linked to the benefits of a personal trainer. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of why personal training is superior to other forms of exercise beyond just convenience and safety.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the flow of ideas. There is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'From my perspective'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the logical progression between sentences is occasionally disjointed. For instance, the transition between the discussion of sports injuries and mental health is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'The reason behind it is a professional', which is grammatically awkward and makes the connection to the previous sentence difficult to follow. Improving the variety and naturalness of linking words would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'hectic work schedule', 'critical', and 'physically fit'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'doing some exercises in their routine' instead of 'following an exercise routine', or 'playing any sports, you can fit physically' instead of 'you may be physically fit'. The vocabulary is generally sufficient to convey your meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. You rely on basic sentence structures and repetitive phrasing, which limits the sophistication of your lexical expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the exercise', 'the classes' time'), subject-verb agreement, and awkward phrasing ('The reason behind it is a professional'). Some sentences are slightly ungrammatical, such as 'playing sports is not only the exercise; you may have to do some other exercises for the mental stress.' These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic article usage and ensuring that complex sentences are constructed with greater accuracy.
