Student answer (Band 6.5)

In recent years, many people are choosing person fitness trainer rather than performing physical exercise or taking part in outdoor sports activities. I believe it is a positive development. This essay will discuss the reason that why it is a positive development.

The main reason for this positive development is the getting better results. Personal trainers provide knowledge to do exercises with right form and techniques, which provide faster growth, effective workouts, and build confidence. Moreover, it improves health. An individual get lower risk of obesity, better mental and physical health, and improves cardiovascular fitness. For instance, Calisthenics and weight training are famous form of exercise for today's generations.

Another reason is personal trainers provide long term health habits by providing knowledge to clients and providing a discipline life. Trainers teach about proper nutrition, sleep , recovery, and healthy lifestyle choices. Furthermore, having health education is crucial for an individual to succeed and provides motivation to develop a fitness routine. For instance, regular exercise routine helps an individual to maintain body fitness, increases focus to achieve goals in life.

Moving to negative development, there is a reason that seeking support from a personal trainer can be expensive and everyone cannot afford to hire one. Also there is less social interaction that an individual get in playing physical sports that is making new friends.

To conclude, it is a positive development to seek help from a fitness trainer to get education about fitness, getting better results, improving health, and leading a discipline life rather than living a lazy life. Also there are more positive reasons rather than negative.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for hiring personal trainers and the evaluation of whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like 'better results' and 'health habits,' the explanation remains quite general. The discussion of the negative aspects is brief and lacks depth, making the argument feel slightly unbalanced. To improve, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed reasoning or specific, illustrative examples rather than just listing benefits. Your position is clear from the introduction, which is a strength.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'Furthermore,' and 'To conclude,' which help the reader follow your argument. However, the transition between the positive and negative aspects is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are slightly disjointed, and the use of referencing could be more precise. For example, the phrase 'there is a reason that seeking support' is a bit clunky. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would help elevate your score in this area.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey your ideas, such as 'cardiovascular fitness,' 'discipline life,' and 'nutrition.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choices and minor errors, such as 'person fitness trainer' instead of 'personal fitness trainer' and 'discipline life' instead of 'disciplined life.' Some collocations are also slightly unnatural, such as 'getting better results' or 'improves health' used as a noun phrase. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise vocabulary and ensuring that word forms (e.g., adjectives vs. nouns) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('An individual get lower risk') and missing articles ('a discipline life'). There are also some awkward phrasings, such as 'the reason that why it is a positive development.' While these errors do not completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and try to incorporate more varied, error-free complex sentences.
