Student answer (Band 6.0)

In many nations, Individuals prefer to appoint gym trainer for their workout than going for any outdoor games or any other workout classes. There several reasons which are involved for it, those are explained in this essay.

People are getting very lazy in general. As previously, everyone has to do labour work and earn money for their family as a basic necessity. But, now money is not a problem anymore. So, rather than going for any sports or yoga classes, one will choose to hire a gym trainer. Because in this era of technology, nobody has time or motivation to go workout by themselves. And to spare time, they need strong motivation which is a personal fitness coach. It has positive impact too. For instance, If someone does not know how any exercise impacts on any part of the body then he/she should hire a trainer to avoid any kind of injury.

Meanwhile, if one start going for the swimming or join pickle ball club; then that is the best exercise one can do while enjoying with the friends. This helps become fit and spend time with your loved ones altogether. There are different sports to choose from, according to their interests and hobbies. I personally like playing cricket with my friends as the game is popular from the region I come from. Likewise, everyone has there preferences. The impact on physical and on mind is common among the sports that is positive development.

To conclude, do gymming with the help of a fitness professional or playing any sport has similar outcome as both fulfills the basic goal of working out. So, no matter what to choose, working on your physical body is important.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for hiring personal trainers and whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. The explanation regarding 'laziness' and 'technology' is a good starting point but lacks depth. The discussion on whether this is a positive or negative development is also slightly ambiguous; while you mention it has a 'positive impact' regarding injury prevention, the conclusion is neutral rather than taking a clear stance. To reach a higher band, ensure each main idea is supported with more detailed reasoning or specific examples rather than brief assertions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as starting sentences with 'Meanwhile' or 'And to spare time'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the trainer and the 'positive impact' could be smoother. The transition between the discussion of personal trainers and the benefits of group sports is abrupt. Improving the variety and precision of linking words would enhance the flow of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'personal fitness coach' and 'injury'. However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'appoint gym trainer' (should be 'hire a personal trainer') and 'do gymming' (should be 'going to the gym' or 'working out'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text, such as 'There several reasons which are involved for it' (missing verb), 'everyone has there preferences' (incorrect homophone), and 'both fulfills' (subject-verb agreement). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To achieve a higher score, focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage, and aim for more error-free complex sentences.
