Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, it is a noticeable trend in some countries, people are going for a personal trainer rather than a sports and exercise. It is a positive trend. There are various reason to this

In today fast pacing world people do not get time to play a sports or exercise , but exercise is necessary for a healthy living so people try to work around to have dedicated fitness trainer who can guide them to do proper exercise. People in olden days use to play sports outdoor and they do not had to hire a fitness trainer they would naturally get fit due to ample time with them.

Additionally, people are more health concious this days, even if they do not like to play or exercise they have to keep them selves fit, therefore they have a fitness trainer who can help them to attend their goals of being fit.

It is a positive trend as even though people do not time out of their busy schedule still they are opting for personal trainer who can guide them in proper schedule and in orderly manner. People can be discipline if they have to follow the routine schedule. Moreover, these may be the people do not like to play sports, but they are moving out of their comfort zone to exercise and give attention to their health. Additionally, there are more personal trainers are joining the field to help the people who need the personalized scheduled for their regular fitness activity.

To sum up, in my opinion it is positive trend as people are opting for good health whether its a sport, exercise or personalized fitness training. In someway, people are paying attention to health.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the reasons provided—lack of time and health consciousness—are relevant but could be expanded with more specific examples or deeper analysis. The position is clear throughout, but the arguments lack the depth required for a higher band. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure each reason is supported by a concrete example or a more detailed explanation of the cause-and-effect relationship.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. There is a logical progression from the reasons to the evaluation. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'Additionally' is used twice in close proximity). Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'these may be the people do not like to play sports'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer to their antecedents would enhance the flow and coherence of the writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and minor errors, such as 'fast pacing world' instead of 'fast-paced world' and 'attend their goals' instead of 'attain their goals'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic terms like 'good health' and 'play sports'. To achieve a higher score, you should aim to use more precise collocations and a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary related to fitness and lifestyle trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'There are various reason to this' (pluralization error), 'people in olden days use to play' (tense error), and 'they do not had to hire' (verb form error). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
