Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this new era of fitness, where all the pupils are interested in keeping themselves fit. Although many people believe that having a professional one on one coach is more beneficial than learning in a group activity or playing a sport. There are several reasons for such a situation, and a few visible influences too. Both aspects are explained in the following paragraph.

Discussing the reasons, the most common one is getting a fitness plan and diet according to the body type, which is far more beneficial than training in a group and doing the same exercise as others. Also, following the diet blindly. Everyone has different fitness goals; working in a group will make it difficult to attain them. The other reason is flexibility, as personal training allows anyone to opt for it at any time of the day, as per their schedule, rather than appearing with dozens at a certain time of the day.

The mention cause has some impact too. The foremost effect is seen on the cost of both activities, as a growing business of providing flexible timing charges you more money than the group. The other repercussion is the social aspect, as most of us are becoming introverted because of this busy life as well as working out alone.

According to me, individual workouts are quite helpful as it will let you know about your working cycle and will keep you on track with your daily fitness, what needs to be improved and what not. I think this is a positive development.

Thus, to conclude the topic, it is finally commented that personal coaching is far better than working in groups and has good effects. So we should workout alone.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: reasons for hiring personal trainers and the evaluation of this trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention 'body type' and 'flexibility' as reasons, these points are not fully explored with concrete examples. The discussion on whether it is a positive or negative development is brief and lacks depth. To improve, you should provide more detailed explanations and specific illustrations to support your arguments. For instance, explaining how a tailored fitness plan specifically prevents injury or improves efficiency would strengthen your position significantly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is occasionally hindered by awkward transitions and sentence fragments. For example, the phrase 'The mention cause has some impact too' is unclear and does not effectively link to the previous paragraph. Additionally, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that flows naturally from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on somewhat basic phrasing, such as 'good effects' and 'far better', which are vague. There are also some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'The mention cause' instead of 'The aforementioned cause'. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary related to health and fitness, and focus on using collocations more accurately to convey your ideas with greater clarity and impact.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. For example, 'In this new era of fitness, where all the pupils are interested in keeping themselves fit' is a sentence fragment. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and article usage throughout the text. While your meaning is generally clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic sentence structure and ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb.
