Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's world fitness plays an important role in a person's life. Being healthy is not a choice as there's a saying "Health is wealth", staying fit is a long-term investement. Nowadays, individuals are opting towards hiring a personal fitness trainer, rather than doing group activities or attending exercise classes.

A rational motive behind choosing personal trainers, would be awareness about one's own health. A personal fitness trainer is beneficial in many ways, as they prepare a fitness plan specifically for you covering your needs and wants. These is crucial as it they work according to your busy schedule as well and because of them you get more disciplined towards your fitness and you also feel motivated to show up on a daily basis. They also prepare a meal plan for you to follow which decreases the consumption of unhealthy food and elevates the intake of meaningful and nutrition rich food, which is beneficial for your bodies health in a long-run.

Whereas, group exercise are focuse on group benefits, and lack to give anyone personal attention. It also some times get difficult to fit them in one's busy schedule as they only take place on specific time of the day, and if you are not able to find time or if you are a shy person then you won't attend such classes. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for hiring personal trainers and the evaluation of whether this is a positive or negative development. However, the essay is incomplete, ending abruptly at 'the cost facto', which prevents a full development of the negative aspects. While the reasons provided (customization, scheduling, and motivation) are relevant and well-supported, the lack of a conclusion and the unfinished final paragraph significantly impact the overall task response. To reach a higher band, ensure all parts of the prompt are fully explored and the essay is brought to a logical conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt at logical progression. Cohesive devices such as 'Whereas' and 'In today's world' are used to link ideas. However, the flow is interrupted by the unfinished nature of the text. Referencing is generally clear, though some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate for the structure of the argument, but the sudden termination of the text makes the overall coherence feel incomplete. Improving the use of linking words to connect the positive and negative aspects more fluidly would enhance the score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, with some attempts at using topic-specific language like 'nutrition rich food' and 'fitness journey'. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'bodies health' (body's health) and 'largerly' (largely). The range is sufficient to convey the main points, but it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring correct spelling of adverbs and possessives.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'These is crucial as it they work' (subject-verb agreement and pronoun confusion) and 'group exercise are focuse' (pluralization and verb form). Punctuation is generally functional, but the unfinished sentence at the end is a significant error. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring sentence completion is essential.
